Mindless | 02 Oct 2005 23:49:17 Lemmings File PortalI've revamped the [link=http://it.travisbsd.org/lemmings/lemmingswelt/]Lemmings File Portal[/link]. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to new ideas... |

Andi | 03 Oct 2005 09:54:20 Re: Lemmings File PortalUse direct links for Downloads. |
Mindless | 03 Oct 2005 21:51:06 Re: Lemmings File PortalThe problem with direct links is that they can be broken, for example, I plan to create directories for level packs, and cheapo stuff, and when I organize the files, the direct links will be broken... or if someone uploads a file to the wrong directory, and I move it... |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 03:01:56 Re: Lemmings File PortalI have uploaded something called lemedit3. It fixes the clock problem. |
ccexplore (not logged in) | 06 Oct 2005 04:18:18 Re: Lemmings File PortalI didn't realize you have such prowess. ;) Can you e-mail me how you figure out what to do to fix the problem? (To be fair, I didn't spend much time trying to figure out what the problem is, since I have many other priorities to deal with.) |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 04:39:07 Re: Lemmings File Portalemail sent |
ccexplore (not logged in) | 06 Oct 2005 04:45:23 Re: Lemmings File PortalOh ok, apparently guest found a way to turn off the test completely. I was hoping he might have found ways to actually make the program more responsive (especially on slower machines and when you save levels), but I guess not having to deal with that idiotic clock test will do for now. ;P |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 06:30:12 Re: Lemmings File PortalNow there's some sort of problem....it only works sometimes. |
Timballisto | 06 Oct 2005 09:57:59 Re: Lemmings File PortalWell then maybe there's a reason for the test after all :p |
DragonsLover | 06 Oct 2005 13:47:43 Re: Lemmings File PortalNice! I suppose that only levels and Lemmings programs are accepted on your portals? I don't think you want other things... or maybe do you accept Lemmings related things like: Images, avatars and so on? |
Conway | 06 Oct 2005 16:15:34 Re: Lemmings File PortalHow would you link to a file on the protal without a specific url? |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 21:07:55 Re: Lemmings File PortalMindless, could you delete lemedit3? I don't know what I did to it, it was late. I now have a version that really fixes the problem. |
JM | 06 Oct 2005 21:16:53 Re: Lemmings File PortalWhat's Lemedit3? Is it a a better version of Lemedit2? |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 21:41:29 Re: Lemmings File PortalThe version on the portal now doesn't fix anything. When it's deleted I'll upload a version that really fixes the clock problem. |
Conway | 06 Oct 2005 21:47:14 Re: Lemmings File PortalThere shouldn't be a clock problem if it's used in DOSBox |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 21:47:31 Re: Lemmings File PortalMindless, the portal only allows thing to be uploaded to the root directory. You might be fixing this now, but I'm just letting you know. |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 21:57:46 Re: Lemmings File PortalThere shouldn't be a clock problem if it's used in DOSBox If the cycles are set too high, then there will be. The reason that this could be useful is because some people have the problem if the cycles are set to anything above 20. :P |
Mindless | 06 Oct 2005 23:14:29 Re: Lemmings File PortalMindless, could you delete lemedit3? I don't know what I did to it, it was late. I now have a version that really fixes the problem. Deleted. Mindless, the portal only allows thing to be uploaded to the root directory. You might be fixing this now, but I'm just letting you know. X_X Um... my fault -- forgot to set directory write access. --- Does anyone need the file lem.bmp? It's a bunch of fuzz. O_o |
guest | 06 Oct 2005 23:22:29 Re: Lemmings File Portallemedit3 is up, and this time it works. |
finlay | 06 Oct 2005 23:55:18 Re: Lemmings File PortalIf the cycles are set too high, then there will be. The reason that this could be useful is because some people have the problem if the cycles are set to anything above 20. :P Ha! I've had the settings on 4 and it's still too high! (less than that and it doesn't work at all) To be fair though, it was the Mac OS X version, and it did work on the PC. |
guest | 07 Oct 2005 00:25:59 Re: Lemmings File Portal4!? Oh my..... Does lemedit3 work? |
finlay | 07 Oct 2005 00:32:47 Re: Lemmings File Portal4!? Oh my..... Does lemedit3 work? Haven't tried it just yet, but give me a few minutes. edit: YES!! Thanks! It still runs deathly slow, though, that's the only problem. |
ccexplore (not logged in) | 07 Oct 2005 01:14:30 Re: Lemmings File Portaledit: YES!! Thanks! It still runs deathly slow, though, that's the only problem. Raise you cycles up to like 10000, or even up to 20000 if your machine is fast enough to handle it. See if that helps. |
ccexplore (not logged in) | 07 Oct 2005 01:16:29 Re: Lemmings File PortalDoes anyone need the file lem.bmp? It's a bunch of fuzz. O_o You may delete it. Leviathan uploaded it for me to download. It was the bitmap he was having problems with after conversion via myvgaspec (seems like the inferior compression in my program is finally leading to some undesirable problems in CustLemm, for certain bitmaps). Since I already downloaded it and presumably no one else wants it, go ahead and delete. |
Leviathan | 07 Oct 2005 21:12:34 Re: Lemmings File PortalBy all means,delete it :) It's a rather big file and it was merely a test-bitmap :P |
finlay | 17 Oct 2005 15:09:17 Re: Lemmings File PortalRaise you cycles up to like 10000, or even up to 20000 if your machine is fast enough to handle it. See if that helps. It was a wee bit faster, but still very jerky. This may have been (at least this time) to do with me running ten other programs at the same time, though. :P |
