Anatol | 28 Aug 2004 00:49:59 Internet BrowserI use Mozilla Firefox 0.9.2! (if you couldn't tell) |
---|---|
G3K | 28 Aug 2004 00:50:37 Re: Internet Browser<3 Firefox. |
Andi | 28 Aug 2004 08:55:25 Re: Internet BrowserThe whole Mozilla Pack. (The normal Mozilla, not Firefox) |
dark_phoenix | 28 Aug 2004 13:21:29 Re: Internet Browserfirefox is the best! i dont see why you wouldn't want to use it. no popups that popup continuasly, and a handy tab. (even though mozilla and opera have that too) the cool thing about opera is that you can just right click and move the mouse right or left and it will go forward or back a page. |
G3K | 28 Aug 2004 13:36:46 Re: Internet BrowserYeah, but Opera is a commercial browser. Even Microsoft hasn't lowered to that level. |
Anatol | 28 Aug 2004 13:45:11 Re: Internet Browserhehe. They'll find a way to force a commercial one on us someday. |
Conway | 28 Aug 2004 14:02:37 Re: Internet BrowserI use Internet Explorer. Why would anyone want to use a different one when Windows already comes with one? |
Andi | 28 Aug 2004 14:20:44 Re: Internet BrowserInternet Explorer has: no features like -popup-blocker -cookie manager -password manager -download manager a lot of security holes no skins intigrated spyware (I heard in SP2 they have changed a bit at it, but SP2 is the LAST thing I'll install.) Anyone else wants to go on? |
Conway | 28 Aug 2004 14:34:35 Re: Internet BrowserIntegrated spyware? That's the first I've heard! O_o |
Lemeri | 28 Aug 2004 15:08:10 Re: Internet BrowserIE is SpyWare, but it's what I use anyway. |
Andi | 28 Aug 2004 16:14:05 Re: Internet BrowserIE uses for the "Related Links" Button a service called Alexa. This software stores everything you enter in forms, where you go in the internet, your IPadress and some more things, even if you don't use it. |
Anatol | 28 Aug 2004 17:44:39 Re: Internet BrowserMozilla's also so cool cause you can download different extensions for it. |
Andi | 28 Aug 2004 19:30:24 Re: Internet BrowserI had one which enabled mouse gestures like in Black & White. :P |
Conway | 28 Aug 2004 21:30:57 Re: Internet BrowserI've just downloaded and installed Mozilla, which I am currently using. It certainly has more features than IE, but the whole Java environment can be a bit annoying. And is it my imagination, or does stuff seem to load faster in Mozilla than in IE? |
Andi | 28 Aug 2004 21:32:24 Re: Internet BrowserJava environment? Anyway possible it loads faster than IE. |
DragonsLover | 29 Aug 2004 05:40:46 Re: Internet BrowserI use Internet Explorer. But your browers are interesting. |
Anatol | 29 Aug 2004 16:30:41 Re: Internet BrowserOh no! Now IE is beating Mozilla! http://getfirefox.com |
Conway | 29 Aug 2004 16:50:16 Re: Internet BrowserJava environment? Yeah, the user interface in Mozilla seems to be Java based. I could be wrong, though. |
Andi | 29 Aug 2004 18:23:24 Re: Internet BrowserI'm not sure, but I think you are wrong. |
G3K | 29 Aug 2004 18:29:16 Re: Internet BrowserI think it was programmed in C++... could be wrong, though. Oh yeah, a point worth considering; the part of the United States government responsible for computer security recommended that people switch to Firefox because IE was so full of security holes. |
Andi | 29 Aug 2004 18:41:21 Re: Internet BrowserThe "German Federal Armed Forces" (Stupid word. But there was no other in the dictionary for "Bundeswehr") also switched to Linux because of too many security holes in MS products. If I would be programmer at MS, I might be somehow depressed. |
Conway | 29 Aug 2004 18:53:19 Re: Internet BrowserHmmm . . . Interesting! What's the difference between Mozilla and Firefox? |
Andi | 29 Aug 2004 19:02:34 Re: Internet BrowserNothing. Firefox is more designed as a single product. Mozilla is the whole suit. I hope that's right. |
Conway | 29 Aug 2004 19:48:30 Re: Internet Browser |
hydraboxdog | 30 Aug 2004 00:33:04 Re: Internet BrowserWhy doesn't everyone use Firefox? In my opinion, Firefox is the best. I used to use Internet Explorer, but it is slow and brings me a popup every time I open it. X_X |
Lemka | 30 Aug 2004 17:23:30 Re: Internet BrowserInternet Explorer 6.0. ... Unfortunately. |
Lemeri | 30 Aug 2004 17:49:42 Re: Internet BrowserIf you get a pop-up, just use ALT+F4 to kill it. They aren't that much of a problem, and IE works fine for me. I switched to IE rather then Netscape because so many sites only load in IE. |
Andi | 30 Aug 2004 18:34:54 Re: Internet BrowserCurrently IE has mor html functions. If you use IE it's also easier to use the buttons for the text format. Mozilla has in that direction too less functions. |
G3K | 30 Aug 2004 19:28:25 Re: Internet BrowserIE supports DHTML. That is reason enough not to use it. |
Conway | 30 Aug 2004 19:33:23 Re: Internet BrowserI must be really behind! What's DHTML? |
G3K | 30 Aug 2004 20:03:35 Re: Internet BrowserIt's an extension to HTML developed by Microsoft which allowed basic animation... unfortunately, only Internet Explorer supported it, and its abilities were so restricted that it became pointless but insanely popular among badly-designed websites. |
G3K | 03 Sep 2004 22:19:09 Re: Internet Browser |
Conway | 03 Sep 2004 23:01:59 Re: Internet BrowserI really shouldn't be laughing at that! (lol!) :D |
Anatol | 04 Sep 2004 02:36:04 Re: Internet BrowserI like it...very tasteful! :D |
Andi | 04 Sep 2004 07:18:43 Re: Internet BrowserHehe! What do you think about a career as an anti-MS artist? ;) |
Anatol | 04 Sep 2004 13:36:10 Re: Internet BrowserHere's a frightening thought! (Don't let it keep you awake at night.) http://lemmings.freeprohost.com/msfirefox.jpg |
Lemeri | 04 Sep 2004 14:26:02 Re: Internet BrowserI'm having a breakdown.... Oh and G3K, don't confuse me with an IE lover. I hate IE more then almost anything. I just use it because all the sites I like only load under it. |
Lemka | 06 Sep 2004 18:03:27 Re: Internet BrowserYeah, I despise IE as well. And I think that's funny. |
remline | 17 Sep 2004 17:22:35 Re: Internet BrowserYeah, the user interface in Mozilla seems to be Java based. I could be wrong, though. The User Interface of Mozilla and Firefox is done in XUL and JavaScript, NOT Java. B) |
Conway | 17 Sep 2004 17:30:50 Re: Internet BrowserOkay okay, I was wrong! :-[ |
dumb_lem | 12 Jan 2005 00:20:29 Re: Internet BrowserI don't use firefox because it's slower than a dead slug. not just a slug, A DEAD SLUG! |
dark_phoenix | 09 Apr 2005 02:21:22 Re: Internet BrowserI think you meant to say Internet Explorer is slower than a dead slug. |
Astral`Lemming | 08 May 2005 09:59:33 Re: Internet BrowserI have officially been converted. I use Firefox now, and I can safely say it rules. |
Mr. Ksoft | 08 May 2005 10:29:57 Re: Internet BrowserI switch to Firefox! Problem is, my parents don't like it. They are slaves of IE. |
drumnbach | 08 May 2005 14:59:37 Re: Internet BrowserI use Space Bison 2.0 |
AstralLemming | 03 Oct 2005 16:54:28 Re: Internet BrowserO-kay. That is bizarre. |
drumnbach | 04 Oct 2005 21:12:08 Re: Internet BrowserIt's a proxomitron reference. When you surf the web, your browser details are sent to various servers. But you can obfuscate such details with various HTTP header editors. SpaceBison is one of the ready-made headers that comes with the HTTP editing software, The Proxomitron. Of course, once you delve into it, it is easy to code your own HTTP header editors. Mine's called the Drumnbachomitron; a name that will surely catch on. |
