hydraboxdog | 18 Aug 2004 20:27:18 Re: Myst!!!For "so awesome", read "a Powerpoint presentation" what is a powerpoint presentation? :???: |
G3K | 18 Aug 2004 21:34:50 Re: Myst!!!Powepoint's a slideshow program. Anyway, to cut a long story short, personally I think Myst is an abomination which should be avoided like the plauge. |
Lemeri | 19 Aug 2004 01:34:14 Re: Myst!!!I'm at odds with you again, G3K. I like Myst. |
hydraboxdog | 19 Aug 2004 02:46:51 Re: Myst!!!I'm at odds with you again, G3K. I like Myst. I totally agree with you, Lemeri! |
hydraboxdog | 19 Aug 2004 02:49:24 Re: Myst!!! By the way, does anyone else know about Elasto Mania? That, Lemmings, and Myst are three games I feel that not many people would know about. |
dark_phoenix | 19 Aug 2004 04:18:59 Re: Myst!!!Myst is pretty good. has some neat creatures. i dont like the music much though. |
Lemeri | 19 Aug 2004 13:23:29 Re: Myst!!!Elasto Mania? sounds like some kind of spanish game, but no. |
Anatol | 19 Aug 2004 15:33:49 Re: Myst!!!Elasto Mania is a 2D motorcycle game. Sounds boring? It isn't! But if you expect awsome graphics, it's not that. Just great gameplay (hey, like Lemmings!) This Elasto site is crazy: http://www.moposite.com/. It has any EM thing you could want. |
remline | 19 Aug 2004 16:07:42 Re: Myst!!!Myst is pretty good. has some neat creatures. i dont like the music much though. !!! X_X The music from the original Myst is awesome!!!!!111 Can't speak for Riven or Exile, though. Never played 'em. |
Lemeri | 19 Aug 2004 18:00:55 Re: Myst!!!Riven's good, but I've never played Exile. |
Louise | 19 Aug 2004 20:05:59 Re: Myst!!!I had a go at Exile. Really enjoyed the first 'zone', but the three you access from there were too confusing and difficult for me. My brain couldn't cope witht he logic required! :???: |
hydraboxdog | 19 Aug 2004 21:28:37 Re: Myst!!!Amateria may be the only age in Exile that I didn't check the walkthrough on. I love the movie at the end where you are on the rides! B) Our moniter was too dark. X_X |
Ice_Eagle91 | 20 Aug 2004 04:42:16 Re: Myst!!!What's Myst? Is there a website on it? |
Lemka | 20 Aug 2004 14:07:50 Re: Myst!!!Oh, probably. Try a search or something. I like Myst and Riven, and I think the other however-many sound good as well. They're kinda frustrating, but that makes it more satisfying when you finally get a puzzle, I think. Even if you have to take time out to play something less strategical before you have another go at it. Strangely, I don't remember the music. I'm sure it was good, though... I also read the first two of those books. I never read the third, because 'reliable sources' told me it was too bleak. |
hydraboxdog | 20 Aug 2004 19:39:53 Re: Myst!!!I read all three. The Book of D'ni was, how should I say this, interesting. |
hydraboxdog | 20 Aug 2004 19:40:44 Re: Myst!!!The game makes more sense when you read the books, though. |
hydraboxdog | 20 Aug 2004 23:21:04 Re: Myst!!!I am stuck on Channel Wood on the second floor in the place with all the tree houses. Does anyone know where the switch is? |
Anatol | 21 Aug 2004 00:50:56 Re: Myst!!!Sometimes you just have to wander around for a while... |
remline | 26 Aug 2004 23:15:10 Re: Myst!!!I read all three. The Book of D'ni was, how should I say this, interesting. Book of Tiana was my favority. B) |
Lemka | 31 Aug 2004 17:50:48 Re: Myst!!!Yeah, that was my favorite, too. It's been a while since I actually played Myst through. I'm just sort of stuck on Riven now. |
Anatol | 31 Aug 2004 21:55:49 Re: Myst!!!What part are you at? Have you gone to a different age yet? |
Lemka | 31 Aug 2004 22:31:13 Re: Myst!!!No, I haven't been to another age yet. I actually haven't played that for a while either, but I'm quite sure that we (it's not just me playing it; I take turns at it with Lemeri) just did that puzzle with all the stone head sort of things. I know, that's not a very good description. And I don't want any hints. In case that's why you were asking. :D |
hydraboxdog | 31 Aug 2004 23:20:18 Re: Myst!!!at the end of the stone heads puzzle you get to go to the Moyote age. :D |
hydraboxdog | 31 Aug 2004 23:20:52 Re: Myst!!!besides that and riven there is only one other age. |
guest | 26 Jan 2005 16:03:07 Re: Myst!!!Strangely, I don't remember the music. I'm sure it was good, though... You're suppose to not remember the music. The music in the Myst series is generally meant to be ambient (moody and atmospheric). It's supposed to stay mostly in the background so that you're not so much aware of the music as you are aware of the moods it creates while you're playing. It's definitely not supposed to be catchy. And actually, most of the time there isn't even really music being played, just various background noises corresponding to the scene/area you're at. Again, think ambience. And I finally bought the latest in the series (Revelation). Just started playing with it for a day. Definitely amazing how much the graphics has progressed since the first in the series. I'm happy with it so far, but I have to say I no longer seem to have as much patience as I once do with these sort of games. Good thing there's lemmings to fall back to in between. |
dark_phoenix | 05 Mar 2005 03:26:23 Re: Myst!!!In short, I agree. :D |
tumble_weed | 16 Jul 2005 08:13:43 Re: Myst!!!yeah I bought Myst about 2 months or so ago... I'm about 3/4 of the way through...but I haven't played it for about the last month |
