G3K | 11 Jul 2004 19:27:56 Guess The GameAnother oldie revived. I'll reiterate the rules for the new folks: 1. The person who guesses the game correctly can either submit their own, or if they can't be arsed, nominate another person (assuming they want to) 2. Any media relating to the game, whether that be screenshots, videos, audio files etc. can be used - if it's an audio or video file, though, keep a reasonable filesize; for audio, I'd recommend a monaural MP3 file with a bitrate of 24kb/s or thereabouts, and for video, a 320x240 150kb/s monaural WMV, MPEG or AVI file should be okay. Length for either should be kept to a minute maximum. Anyhow, on with the show... The first game, with a soundtrack which should go down as one of the best ever. And no, it's not listed in my "Other Games" list ;P |

Lemka | 12 Jul 2004 15:54:38 Re: Guess The GameIt doesn't work for me. |
G3K | 12 Jul 2004 18:18:33 Re: Guess The GameFunny, it's just a normal MP3... Windows Media Player 7 upwards or Winamp should handle it no problem. |
dumb_lem | 13 Jul 2004 02:47:17 Re: Guess The Gamewhat game is it from. :???: :???: :???:........oh yeah...guess the game... >:( |
G3K | 14 Jul 2004 16:03:46 Re: Guess The GameWell, seeing as how nobody knows it (hell, nobody even attempted, you lazy people >=/), I may as well post the answer: it was Konami's Sparkster, released for the SNES in 1994. Next one, this should hopefully be a lot easier. It's another Konami SNES game, by the way. EDIT: And ignore the "59/60" at the bottom, that's just the emulator's framerate counter. |
Andi | 14 Jul 2004 17:44:28 Re: Guess The GameContra III - The Alien wars! :D |
Lemka | 14 Jul 2004 17:53:36 Re: Guess The GameAh, that explains it. I have an outdated version of that and I've never bothered to upgrade it, since times like this are the only times I ever use the thing. And I have no idea about the second one, except that it sounds like Andi is right to me. |
G3K | 14 Jul 2004 17:54:48 Re: Guess The GameContra III - The Alien wars! :D Correct, even though I already told you over MSN :D |
Andi | 14 Jul 2004 20:17:36 Re: Guess The Game |
Lemka | 15 Jul 2004 18:45:42 Re: Guess The GameSpiderman or something? I have no idea. |
G3K | 16 Jul 2004 17:27:02 Re: Guess The GameMy guess is an X-Men game of some kind, judging by the dude on the left... give us a couple of hints =P |
Lemka | 16 Jul 2004 17:29:35 Re: Guess The GameMaybe some sort of 'superhero showdown' thing? |
Andi | 16 Jul 2004 19:34:12 Re: Guess The GameIt has a bit of spiderman, a bit of superheroshowdownthing and the world's famost hedgehog is part of the name. |
Lemka | 16 Jul 2004 19:51:58 Re: Guess The GameWell, that would be Sonic, right? Unfortunately, I still don't know what it is :P |
G3K | 16 Jul 2004 20:46:16 Re: Guess The GameSonic Blastman? |
Andi | 16 Jul 2004 22:02:18 Re: Guess The GameG3K is almost right. It is Sonic Blastman 2. So it's now your turn. |
G3K | 16 Jul 2004 22:18:16 Re: Guess The Game |
Lemeri | 17 Jul 2004 00:23:12 Re: Guess The GameI'd say some kind of Sonic game... |
Lemka | 17 Jul 2004 00:24:16 Re: Guess The GameIs that a rabbit or something? Ehr... maybe I'll figure it out in a while. |
G3K | 17 Jul 2004 11:02:22 Re: Guess The GameLemeri> Nope, however Sonic Team was the reason this game didn't get the exposure it deserved. L'K> Again, nope, not a rabbit =P |
Lemka | 17 Jul 2004 12:25:24 Re: Guess The GameTrue, it seems to have a tail. Unfortunately, I'm drawing a complete blank on what else it could be right now. |
Andi | 17 Jul 2004 17:35:04 Re: Guess The GameCould be a mouse. Is it a sonic clone? |
G3K | 17 Jul 2004 17:49:14 Re: Guess The GameNope, not a clone, completely different game. |
Lemka | 17 Jul 2004 19:26:15 Re: Guess The GameOkay, so it may or may not be a mouse, it has a jetpack, and you seem to need to find crystals. Urg. I have no clue. Well, actually, I probably have several clues - I'm just putting them together wrong. |
G3K | 19 Jul 2004 15:06:25 Re: Guess The GameOkay, seeing as how nobody's getting that one... it's Sparkster 2 : Rocket Knight Adventures, released by Konami in 1994 for the Sega Megadrive. And just to clear up the species argument, Sparkster is an Australian possum. Anyway, new game, and this time it's a Sega Megadrive release title... this lad was Sega's mascot before Sonic showed up. Here's the pic. |
Lemka | 19 Jul 2004 16:09:09 Re: Guess The GameIs it that vampire-thing? Or was that not even Sega? |
G3K | 19 Jul 2004 16:12:00 Re: Guess The Game...vampire? XD Well, yeah, it's the little dude in the red with the mullet. Another hint: His initials are AK. |
Lemka | 19 Jul 2004 16:14:47 Re: Guess The GameSo it's not the vampire. Garn, I have no idea... |
Andi | 19 Jul 2004 18:49:16 Re: Guess The GameAK? Hm... AK-47. XD Maybe his name is Achmed Kalashnikov or so. Anyway this game looks really weird. :P |
Lemeri | 19 Jul 2004 21:05:22 Re: Guess The GameI'm stumped. |
dumb_lem | 19 Jul 2004 21:14:34 Re: Guess The Gamei can't get to the picture. links aren't working on my computer or something. |
Timballisto | 21 Jul 2004 01:51:23 Re: Guess The Game!!!!!!!WT........... O_O That's.......an odd game. |
dumb_lem | 22 Jul 2004 04:27:38 Re: Guess The Game what's the game about? |
G3K | 22 Jul 2004 10:51:50 Re: Guess The GameA game description taken from MobyGames... A*** K***, resident of planet Aries, is the brother to the king. One day he comes across a rumor that his long lost father, King Thor, is alive and somewhere on the planet Paperock. Now Paperock is a place where you have to be good at the game of 'Paper, Rock and Scissors' to get anywhere. With that knowledge you must take control of A***, guide him through the odd natured, unfriendly planet and help him find his father. It's a side-scrolling platformer, like Mario. |
Lemeri | 22 Jul 2004 16:14:34 Re: Guess The GameIt sounds kinda stupid, but I still down't know. |
G3K | 22 Jul 2004 17:24:25 Re: Guess The GameSeeing as how absolutely nobody is getting it... Alex Kidd And The Enchanted Castle, released in 1989 for the Sega Megadrive. Moving on, and it's a Master System game now. Here it is. |
Andi | 22 Jul 2004 20:04:55 Re: Guess The GameHm. The guy in the mi9ddle of the screen rememinds me to Banjo-Kazooi (or however it is spelled). But I know that's not the name. XD |
Lemeri | 24 Jul 2004 15:33:43 Re: Guess The GameWell, it looks kinda like a fox, so I guess it could be Starfox. |
G3K | 24 Jul 2004 17:15:28 Re: Guess The GameCorrect, it is a fox, but it's not Starfox. |
Lemeri | 24 Jul 2004 22:10:15 Re: Guess The GameWell, I got kind of close. |
Timballisto | 25 Jul 2004 00:46:23 Re: Guess The GameThe only Starfoxes I know of are for SNES, N64 (Now THAT version RULES ALL!!!), and Gamecube (Heard that one sucked). |
dumb_lem | 26 Jul 2004 03:14:18 Re: Guess The Gamei got starfox snes and it's actually pretty good. (starfox 64 rules all) |
Lemeri | 28 Jul 2004 16:34:53 Re: Guess The GameNone of this has to do with guessing the game. |
G3K | 28 Jul 2004 16:39:20 Re: Guess The Gameomg u ppl liek suk at thiz :< That was Psycho Fox for the Sega Master System. Someone should at LEAST be able to get the character. |
G3K | 01 Aug 2004 21:56:11 Re: Guess The GameSeeing as how nobody's going to bother their arse even TRYING, I'm going to make the next one obvious as possible. The last one was Megaman VII for SNES. Which game's had its music buggered thanks to incorrect emulation? |
Andi | 02 Aug 2004 09:16:52 Re: Guess The GameHm, the one above I must have overred, :???: I can't remember that post. The mp3,... is it one of the kirby games? |
G3K | 02 Aug 2004 11:16:51 Re: Guess The GameNope, not a Kirby game; it's for the Megadrive. |
Andi | 02 Aug 2004 12:47:52 Re: Guess The GameLemmings for the megadrive? :D |
Lemeri | 02 Aug 2004 14:20:06 Re: Guess The GameI can't get the music clip. It says one or more files are missing. |
G3K | 02 Aug 2004 16:57:23 Re: Guess The GameFunny, I can access it just fine... you might be missing a codec or something, try getting Winamp. |
Andi | 06 Aug 2004 07:40:17 Re: Guess The GameHm, what kind of game is it? |
G3K | 06 Aug 2004 10:44:33 Re: Guess The GamePlatformer. :EDIT: Remember, since I've modified the sound emulation, it'll sound a bit different in the actual game. |
Andi | 06 Aug 2004 12:58:11 Re: Guess The GameRainbow Islands? |
G3K | 06 Aug 2004 13:46:11 Re: Guess The GameNope, although that is a pretty damn good game in its own right from what I've heard. :EDIT: I'd give you a hint... but that'd make it too obvious. Hell, that last sentence might've even given it away! :EDIT 2: Quick puzzle time, folks! Mario is to Nintendo what OMGWTFBBQ is to Sega. |
Andi | 06 Aug 2004 15:10:30 Re: Guess The GameSonic Pinball? (it just flew into my mind.) //edit1: Argh! Sonic Pinball is no platform game! Is it a Sonic game? //edit 2: Wait! It could be Sonic 3 and Knuckles and the music is from the Egyptian Theme! //edit 3: But Sonic is no puzzle game. X_X |
G3K | 06 Aug 2004 15:21:01 Re: Guess The GameYou've got the right idea, but nope, it's not Spinball, 3 or Knuckles. |
Ice_Eagle91 | 14 Aug 2004 00:25:23 Re: Guess The GameI think this topic should be moved to the Other Games board, because it's a games topic. |
Streetlight Admnistrator 370 | 14 Aug 2004 04:22:38 Re: Guess The GameYep, it should ^_^ |
G3K | 02 Sep 2004 15:55:47 Re: Guess The GameOkay, I've concluded that you people are rubbish at this o_o Anyway, on with the next one. Keep listening to the end and you may recognise it as the soundtrack to a certain famous DisasterLabs Flash. |
Andi | 02 Sep 2004 16:44:50 Re: Guess The GameArfenhouse 2? |
G3K | 02 Sep 2004 16:47:31 Re: Guess The GameRight movie, but what's the game it's from? Hint: Capcom. |
Andi | 02 Sep 2004 17:08:50 Re: Guess The GameIs Mega-Man from Capcom? |
G3K | 02 Sep 2004 17:13:01 Re: Guess The GameYep... it's close enough, so I'll give you it; Megaman 2, specifically. |
dumb_lem | 15 Jan 2005 00:20:15 Re: Guess The GameI've got one, (Andi, you may intervene at any time during this guess because you really did get the last one.) quote "once i am finished with you, the seal will open between the two worlds." unquote, Guess what game that's from. HINT:Chain link (the quote may be a bit off) it's either dark world and light world, or the two worlds. |
G3K | 15 Jan 2005 00:43:54 Re: Guess The GameMetroid Prime 2: Echoes? |
dumb_lem | 15 Jan 2005 05:09:25 Re: Guess The Gamenope. If you knew the answer then you would know why that seems like a really wierd answer. |
Timballisto | 26 Jan 2005 23:22:00 Re: Guess The GameAx, your quote was off enough to make the answer more hidden. It was: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. |
Timballisto | 05 Mar 2005 22:12:13 Re: Guess The GameHere's a game descript. Guess from this. This 1989 game pits a good god against an evil one. You must level land for your people to settle on and destroy your opponent's people. You can use spells such as swamp, knight, volcano, earthquake, flood, and armageddon. Each side has a unit called a priest, who lets you do things on the map even though you are not there (you are playing a god, so you aren't there). Only the priest can be directly controlled. hint: think D.angerously M.orose A.ugers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -- - |
Lemeri | 06 Mar 2005 00:35:03 Re: Guess The GameUh... It sounds sorta like one of the early Populous games, but I don't have any idea. |
Timballisto | 06 Mar 2005 06:30:14 Re: Guess The GameWow. Okay, Lemeri, it was THE Populous. Your turn I guess. |
