Insane_Steve | 29 Jul 2004 03:37:03 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsWell, I'd have to go back and check levels for certain authors, but here's my list of levels that really stand out: Conway: Out of the fryingpan... (Brilliant trick...) Steaver: The Impossible Room (Cheapo, another brilliant trick...) tumble: Multiple Choice (A level with something that is easy to overlook...) Juanjo: A lot of good levels here, but I like ... wow. I'll have to think about this one. Dragonslover: A lot of pretty levels here, again, I'd have to check for this one. Lemeri: I like one of the trap levels a lot, forgot the name, again, I'll have to check. If I didn't list you, it means that it is late and my mind skipped over you for some reason. Tell me if you want me to tell you my favorite of your levels. |

Isu | 27 Apr 2005 15:44:14 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsAren't you thinking of "Oh well"? The set is called Why bother. (I should know because I went through EVERY set and handpicked my favourite level out of each of them) |
Conway | 27 Apr 2005 15:50:52 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsYou're right, of course! I keep getting them mixed up. I guess it's just that Why Bother sounds more like a level name, instead of a level pack. And Oh Well sounds more like a level pack name. So, I get them mixed up. :x And my favourite level from it is probably 'Savage Garden' or 'Worm your way to the Top'. |
Timballisto | 27 Apr 2005 19:57:23 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsUh, you missed me in your post. If you're doing cheapo though I guess I can understand that. |
Isu | 28 Apr 2005 15:14:55 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsI don't play Custlemm very often, and when I do I don't play very many levels. See, I gotta use my old PC, It's a very old 686 but runs more like a 386. |
guest | 28 Apr 2005 21:55:20 Re: Favorite Levels of Authors686??? What the heck is that? :???: |
Timballisto | 28 Apr 2005 23:33:35 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsI believe he's referring to the Hz of his computer. |
Shvegait | 28 Apr 2005 23:17:03 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsNooo, Timballisto, maybe you are too young. I forget what the actual numbers mean, but PCs at one time were referred to as 186, 286, 386, 486... We had a 286 and 386, my brother (he's 12 yrs older than me) had a 486 and 586, but after that they started referring to their speeds in MHz. The first Pentiums were either 486 or 586, I think, could be wrong though... Never heard of 686 though. |
Mindless | 29 Apr 2005 02:09:11 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsTo quote Wikipedia's Pentium III article: "The Pentium III is an x86 (more precisely, an i686) architecture microprocessor by Intel..." |
guest | 29 Apr 2005 08:49:51 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsI guess Intel do still carry around the number system in its technical docs...... In any case, I think the comparison of a Pentium III to an old 386 is a bit, um, exaggerated. It's like saying your airplane is going at the speed of a bus! If your "686" is really so slow I can only imagine your hard disk is getting really full, your RAM is running out, and your system heavily infected with spyware. Also, a Pentium III doesn't exactly strike me as "old", even in computer-time. |
Isu | 29 Apr 2005 13:57:32 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsI did have a 486 at first, then I upgraded my motherboard (That is to say "Went into the Computer and manually replaced" ;)) to something that I thought was faster. I was told that this was roughly about as fast as a Pentium I. I know I never had a Pentium III. What I have now is something that runs at a "1.70 Ghz Intel Celeron Processor" (Quote from the front of my machine). Whether or not this is anywhere near as fast (or slow) as a 686 is beyond me. |
Timballisto | 21 May 2005 01:55:40 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsFrom what I've heard, (Which means this might not be right, so you can't jump on me about it (ha!)) Celeron processors aren't quite as good as pentiums. |
Isu | 21 May 2005 04:09:43 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsI don't think they are, but I think a Celeron processor is equivilent to a Pentium II. I could be wrong though... |
Shvegait | 21 May 2005 08:34:43 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsCelerons aren't the fastest, but they're cheaper or cooler (temperature-wise) or something like that which makes them attractive. |
JM | 08 Jun 2005 11:36:18 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsThese are my fav levels of authors who made levels for Custlemm. Tumble Weed: No use for a Terrain A Rip-Off of a level Objects? What Objecets? Isu | 17 Jul 2005 23:03:58 CustLemm/Lemedit Levels PostOut of what I've played, here come the lemedit ones... Insane Steve: Rhapsody Watch ye step Betcha can't save just one (is that spelt right?) Conway: I am no AT, but close enough Praetor predAtor (Crane): Sharing a climber Floaters Round I'll list more when I play more. |
JM | 17 Jul 2005 23:43:27 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsI have to say Rhapsody is one of Insane Steve's best levels. |
Insane Steve | 17 Jul 2005 23:58:56 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsThere's a reason that, despite having something like 80 levels in the notebook I could find where I got LemEdit, "Rhapsody" is the first I attempted to re-create: It is also one of my favorite levels that I made. My first solution to the level was rather inefficient (why you only have to save 95% instead of the possible 98%, and why you'll have a few tasks left over). "Rhapsody in Blue", a different level inspired by my level (It's Cheapo. I think Ahribar made it), is the one level that I'm still quite unnerved that I can't figure out how to pass. Since there's a lot of new authors, I need to update my list. Expect an update to this post sometime later. |
JM | 20 Jul 2005 15:12:22 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsYeah you would need to finish making walkthroughs for your level packs when you have the time. |
Ice_Eagle | 05 May 2006 01:41:43 Re: Favorite Levels of AuthorsOkay, here are some of my favorite levels: Rain the level with the very random title (level 10) Torture Chamber! All Combined Together Frozen Lava Bublaria Shang the Fireball |

I don't play cheapo much so I won't mention cheapo levels but I could someday. |
