Lemka | 15 Jul 2004 19:25:32 Re: Your DesktopNeat desktop! Weirdly, I was just thinking of starting this thread up again, so I just took a screenshot of my desktop. This is it. Except the icons aren't usually all highlighted, of course, but I thought it looked better that way :P |
G3K | 15 Jul 2004 21:08:02 Re: Your DesktopSince my desktop is boring, I decided to add a couple of captions. Here. Lem'ka> I couldn't access yours :???: Andi> Nice wallpaper... I could have actually had a t-shirt with a similar design, but I was skint at the time :/ |
Lemka | 16 Jul 2004 13:45:08 Re: Your DesktopIt works just fine for me. :???: Interesting captions, those. |
Lemeri | 16 Jul 2004 17:05:34 Re: Your DesktopIt works for me... My free image hosting is down, so I can't put mine... >:( EDIT: I hosted it on my own, so here it is... http://www.familylees.net/~boofer/SkaarjMackG.gif That's a screenshot of the burning Skaarj mother ship. I was blue team. |

G3K | 18 Jul 2004 20:38:03 Re: Your DesktopAfter reformatting... there's barely any changes. |

G3K | 24 Jul 2004 23:08:20 Re: Your DesktopL'K> I think he meant it was his wallpaper. Looking a lot cooler these days. There's a bit of a story behind the wallpaper which I'll explain in due course. |
Timballisto | 25 Jul 2004 01:02:39 Re: Your DesktopHeh...I have a desktop to show y'all, I just need to get it off of my dad's computer. I drew it myself, and in my opinion, it looks... B) |

Lemka | 10 Aug 2004 19:05:20 Re: Your DesktopYeah, welcome :D I changed the desktop in my gaming profile. Why? Because the color scheme of the other one rendered it impossible to type sometimes O_O |
Mr. Ksoft | 10 Aug 2004 19:23:27 Re: Your DesktopI just made some new wallpaper and slapped it on with a matching Windowblinds skin. EDIT: Whoops! Made it a link, it won't show up in the page now. http://www.yoxio.com/img/79468.jpg |

Timballisto | 20 Aug 2004 03:28:43 Re: Your DesktopHey, wait a sec.... Lem'ka, why does your Populous icon look like a yellow bow tie? :-/ |
dumb_lem | 20 Aug 2004 03:31:02 Re: Your Desktopi had no idea how to get a new desktop i just sorta clicked on things and the end result was a yoshi desktop. |
Andi | 20 Aug 2004 08:44:29 Re: Your DesktopI just set Just 4 Fun my desktop wallpaper to Yoshi, too. But it look's kinda... not good. :-( |
Lemka | 20 Aug 2004 13:53:04 Re: Your DesktopHey, wait a sec.... Lem'ka, why does your Populous icon look like a yellow bow tie? :-/ That's the icon for the new matchmaker client the Gabber cooked up when the normal lobby went down. I don't know exactly why that symbol was chosen, but it wasn't me who chose it :D |
Lemeri | 20 Aug 2004 14:25:01 Re: Your DesktopI thinks it's supposed to be a radioactive symbol. |
G3K | 22 Aug 2004 14:51:03 Re: Your Desktop |
Lemeri | 22 Aug 2004 14:55:27 Re: Your DesktopNot too bad. What is it supposed to be? A mushroom? |
Andi | 22 Aug 2004 15:22:07 Re: Your DesktopMushrooms... MUSHROOMS! These specific MUSHROOMS! ;P |
G3K | 22 Aug 2004 16:08:26 Re: Your DesktopYep, they're 'shrooms alright. |
Lemeri | 23 Aug 2004 02:57:43 Re: Your DesktopThere's some kind of story behind this, right? |
Lemka | 26 Sep 2004 23:50:27 Re: Your DesktopI dredge this topic from the grave to rejuvinate it with inhuman sacrifice. My new desktop. I felt I needed a change. I'd had my previous one up for... a whole month O_O |

Andi | 27 Sep 2004 15:02:07 Re: Your DesktopVery clean, G3K. ;P L'K, you play Neverwinter Nights? (or was it Knights? Damn, I forgot ^^;) Anyway, it's an MMORPG, isn't it? |
Lemka | 27 Sep 2004 17:52:28 Re: Your DesktopYou were right. It's Nights. And yes, I do. I just started, really -- and all I've done so far is the single player. You can play it single player as well. |
G3K | 28 Sep 2004 23:44:44 Re: Your DesktopYey for laptops. For the uninitiated, my mum recently got a laptop for her college work, which when she's not using is quite thoroughly mine. ;) Nice system, Pentium M 1.7GHz with a gigabyte of RAM, ATi Radeon graphics and wireless networking capabilities... now I should be able to play UT from even the most remote farm (assuming it's a wireless-enabled farm, of course) :D |

?QuErY? | 04 Apr 2005 17:27:08 Re: Your DesktopAAAHHH!!!! That's so sweet! Normally, it's pretty hard to get me to say something like that. There's just something about small rodents which makes me crack up... By the way, is that rat yours? |
ISU | 04 Apr 2005 19:35:30 Re: Your DesktopI'd post mine but I dont know how to :'( |
Conway | 05 Apr 2005 01:01:44 Re: Your DesktopPress print-screen, paste into Paint, or any other imaging software, save onto system, upload to a server/file hosting site. edit: Not sure if I've posted this desktop before, but here it is anyway. PNGs (for high-speed connections): Plain desktop Desktop with start menu Desktop with window JPGs (for lower-speed connections): Plain desktop Desktop with start menu Desktop with window The background has actually been streched, due to the wide aspect ratio of the screen resolution. Here is the original. |

ISU | 05 Apr 2005 15:18:44 Re: Your DesktopNeither do I but I only got about...erm...3 EDIT: Here's my desktop <edited out to free up webspace and bandwidth> Its very crowded. I need to organize it. |

Timballisto | 06 Apr 2005 09:41:49 Re: Your DesktopI don't quite get it, but, here is what I think of XP's stupidity, XP "MWAHAHA! FOOLS! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE! MORE MEMORY!!!!" GENERAL PEPPER "Star Fox, we have an emergency! XP is alive...and he's launched an attack against Corneria! Enemy forces have sortied from XP's motherships and carriers are heading towards Corneria. They've also built bases on several planets, and are firing IPBMs at Corneria. Your help is crucial! Corneria can take some hits, but with excessive damage, we will fall! Protect Corneria, and wipe out XP's army! We're counting on you, Star Fox! |
G3K | 06 Apr 2005 13:11:19 Re: Your DesktopClose, it's comparing Windows 95 and Windows XP's memory needs. <3 Crazy Japanese people with too much free time |
Timballisto | 06 Apr 2005 19:22:55 Re: Your DesktopYep, XP stinks. Why?...who knows. What's with the "bam" coming out of the bowl of...rice memory XD ? Oh, and guess what game the above dialogue is from. (replace all XP's with Andross, and take out the top line entirely). |
Conway | 06 Apr 2005 21:03:09 Re: Your DesktopI don't really see what the complaint is against XP, except it can't run LemEdit properly. But it's silly comparing its memory requirements to that of 95, because all PCs being released now with XP have at least 256MB of ram. But back in the days of Windows 95 and 98 they didn't have really complex programs or operating systems that require more than 64MB. So it's okay making progressively more complex software, as long as equivalently powerful hardware is available to accommodate it. |
Andi | 07 Apr 2005 17:24:50 Re: Your DesktopBut it would have been possible to make winXP needing less Megs of RAM. Windows 95 was made to run on a 386 at 4 MB RAM. |
Timballisto | 07 Apr 2005 19:10:11 Re: Your DesktopThey sell gig ram sticks now, don't they? |
Conway | 07 Apr 2005 19:52:34 Re: Your DesktopYeah, and the next version of Windows will probably need them! |
